Third Times a charm

This is the 3rd time I've written and posted this blog about Nauvoo and Halloween. That blasted blogger sent my long and not-so-eloquent posts into oblivion. Alas...

We had a great time visiting Nauvoo. Hannah loved seeing Grandma and Grandpa especially to celebrate her 4th birthday with them. Hannah declared to us that now that she's four, she is going to stop crying. Good luck with that one Miss Hannah Mae! We loved seeing their beautiful store (Zion's Mercantile), the Nauvoo Temple, pioneer sites and covered wagons, the neat statues in the visitor's center, and the Nauvoo town Halloween parade and pumpkin party. I was so excited to hear mom and dad speak in church. They did a magnificent job. It was pure doctrine!!! Love that. We look forward to going for Turkey Day to celebrate all of our blessings with family... for once!!! We haven't had Thanksgiving with family since 1999.

As for Halloween...Hannah was a Strawberry Shortcake Princess. Some people from India at Jimmy's work thought she was Amish. They thought it was so cute when I told them that my mom had made that dress for me when I was a little girl. Abe practically refused to dress up as a cowboy. He did wear the vest for about an hour but every 5 minutes tried to take it off....which is why we didn't invest too much in his costume. We had the Dalai Lama, a princess from India, a Japanese Princess, Screamer, a firefighter, and TinkerBell come to visit our home for trick-or-treating. Abe jumped into my arms every time the doorbell rang. Hannah seemed quite amazed at the entire concept of trick-or-treating. Jimmy helped Hannah carve a happy pumpkin to display outside. It was our first pumpkin carving and we thought it turned out cute. Soooo...off will Halloween (thank goodness!) and on with falling leaves, counting blessings, family, lots of goodies, and cold weather. Brrrr.....Lovin' Hot chocolate. Posted by Picasa
