Kites & Scriptures

The shining moment for today was seeing the excitement in the eyes and smiles of Hannah and Abe as they flew kites. Abe had such a blast running around for an hour with his kite even though it hardly left the ground. He was so proud of himself. And Miss Hannah did a great job running all around the yard in big circles trying to avoid our tiny trees. It was a delightful time.

So...I'm kindof excited about my new scripture reading program. I started out the year with the intent to study the different topics from the Relief Society Declaration. I haven't done the best with it for various reasons. I think my favorite way to study the scriptures is getting a hardback blue Book of Mormon and choosing a theme to study. Then I take notes on the blank pages in the front and write comments in the margins. The last time I did this, I focused on ways to be a better mother and wife. And believe me, I had a lot of notes, as I definitely need some inspiration and help in this area. I love having a separate book with my testimony, my notes from a specific time in my life. So today I'm starting a new book with the theme of "How can I feel the Love of the Lord daily, and how can I help my family feel the Love of the Lord daily?" I love the Relief Society conference on this topic and I really want to gain a stronger testimony of the blessings that come from feeling the Love of the Lord. So...that was a long explanation but I'm just excited about it, so ta-da!
